Olney, MD Information & Community Websites
The Olney
Concert Band was formed in 1985 with just a
few individuals.
Since then it has grown to a membership of 35 plus which is directed
by a professional conductor from the Army's
Ceremonial Band at Ft. Myer. Membership in the band
is open
to all individuals who played in high school or
college or
mature high school/college students. Concerts are
performed throughout the year and include a variety of musical
styles such as light classics, marches and popular music. Some
concerts also include professional guest soloists from the military
bands in the area. There are no auditions and everyone is welcome to
participate. Rehearsals are usually held once a week on Wednesday
evenings in Sandy Spring, from 7:30-9:30.
